Sharing Resources and Community in San Diego for Mobile Filmmakers

Where there’s sun there’s passion! If someone ever said that, they were probably from San Diego. Where the tech meets the surf and smartphone filmmakers are the stars, it’s no wonder the tech world brought filmmakers to its playground with a film festival like this one in San Diego.

S. Botello Productions (SBP) has been a pioneer in building a global community of mobile filmmakers and storytellers. We launched International Mobile Film Festival for mobile filmmaking in 2009 from a vision in 2001. We created the SBP Podcast Mobile Filmmaking for smartphone film and video enthusiasts. We continue to provide a platform for community members.

We’ve created many programs and projects over the years to help and benefit members of the mobile filmmaking community. It began with IMFF in the Spring 2009. With so many years working in the community, we’ve held countless conversations with filmmakers and others in the mobile filmmaking industry.

Susy Botello attended countless events online and in person to advocate for mobile filmmakers over the years. She is an avid speaker lending her voice as an advocate for our community to guest in podcasts, events, conferences, film festivals, publications, news stations and even held panels four consecutive years at comic-con in San Diego. Susy is also a writer on Medium and Substack.

We are persistent in our work to provide a platform you can count on.

Established in 2006 as a media production company, SBP always has one eye on innovation: The future. Most importantly, creating a platform to help us all get there.

“With storytelling at its core, SBP has weaved the concept of story-in-everything as its foundation,” says Botello. “The message of the power of storytelling is in our film festival and the SBP Podcast. It’s why we’re always aiming to inspire everyone. I hope everyone gets to experience their power.”

Storytelling through film is world-changing. It’s one of the most powerful mediums of change available to all humans today, and it has the farthest reach to access the most people around the world.

For small villages in a country where there is poor structural support where a theater may not be available, there’s a theater in your pocket. A film school may not be available in your city, but your phone camera helps you learn anytime, anywhere.

Our podcast and film festival platform continue moving forward with our community in mind. We’ve been supporting you since the beginning and our passion burns strong.

Are you providing a genuine resource for mobile filmmakers? We’d like to hear from you and share your valuable resources with our community. Our community knows we would only recommend valuable resources.

Starting a community is not something you do overnight. Certainly, it takes a long time to win the trust of a community. Especially in today’s environment.

In 2009, we were a new concept at the core of a well established industry. Making movies for the cinema with “cell” phones, before the iPhone 4 was not a thing. We were, and continue to be, exclusive to only cameras on phones, all brands.

We’re a small company with a lot of passion, perseverance, and devotion to a community of people around the world who are making, or are interested in the making of, films and videos using smartphone cameras.

We’d like to help your company or business get in front of our community. We are evaluating a few options, if you would like to invest in the opportunity.

If you’re interested, send us a message and let’s talk. Serious inquiries only.
